Thanks for the Smile - Crazy Crafters Team Project Highlights

Thank gosh it's Friday!!

It's been a pretty challenging week for me this week work wise.....I would really rather spend my day stamping and being creative than sitting behind a desk.
As always at this time of the week, it is time to highlight some of the amazing talent in the Crazy Crafters Team.  I am in awe of how creative and inspiring our team is week after week.

I have chosen to use another host stamp set this week - the same set Kylie used a couple of weeks ago when she got some great water colouring tips from her good friend John.

So I guess I could say that I CASEd Kylie!! And my card today:

Using the Fabulous Flora Stamp Set I stamped the floral image in Staz On Black and used some Watercolour Pencils to add colour.  I chose Rich Razzleberry for the main flower as I love the richness of this colour.  I also stamped the sentiment in the same colour which is from Dragonfly Dreams.  I was going to use Basic Black card stock for the base of my card but it looked a bit wishy washy, so I decided to stick with Rich Razzleberry and I think it works perfectly.  This was so quick to make it would be a great card for a beginners stamping class.

What Will You Stamp #WWYS109 - Turning 18

Hello Everyone

This week I am taking part in my first challenge at What Will You Stamp? #WWYS109
It's a weekly challenge blog and this week we are sharing all of our ideas for using this new balloon set... Balloon Adventures!

I'm not at the stage just yet with my son that I need to think about milestone birthdays but close.....he enters double digits in July so it's sort of a big deal.
On the other hand, my nieces and nephew are at that age. My youngest niece is turning 18 at the end of March.  She has just started study at university and living away from home which in itself is scary, let alone officially becoming an adult.

So needing an 18th birthday card and knowing that she's not a real girly girl, I found it a bit challenging.  But thought I can't go wrong with balloons. And yes I know it's pink, and pink is girly but I just love Melon Mambo!!!

Here is what I made for her:

I cased this from Pinterest - full credit to Cindy Brumbaugh of cindyleebeedesigns.com

I love the way that this card shows both sides of the It's My Party Designer Series Paper, and the colours of Mint Macaron, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Sahara Sand match perfectly together.
I used the Balloon Builder Punch for the balloons and the Number of Years stamp set for the 18, before I die cut them with the Large Number Framelits Dies.
A bit of Bakers Twine for the balloon strings and the front is finished.

I carried the design through to the inside of the card using the streamer image stamp from the Balloon Adventures stamp set...the sentiment is also from the same set.

Global Design Project #GDP079 - Theme Challenge

Hi Everyone

Welcome to the Global Design Project for this week.
Our theme today is Amusement Park.

When I think of amusement parks, I think of roller coasters and bumper cars, show bags, kids having fun and of course food. You can spend ages just walking around the park and still never see everything. And everything is spinning.....the rides, the turnstiles, soft serve ice cream, fairy floss and those cute the little ducks that float around on the water pond.....these are the things that have inspired my card today:

So I thought the Swirly Bird stamp set was the perfect match for this theme.  I have used Bermuda Bay as my card base and the layered with Whisper White.  I chose a variety of inks from the Brights Colour family including Real Red, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise and of course Bermuda Bay and with the different sizes of the swirly images, created my own background.

I found a matching sentiment from Suite Sentiments stamp set and stamped this on Whisper White using Melon Mambo ink.  I used the Tags & Labels Framelits Dies to cut out "a ticket" (cause you always need a ticket to get entry to the rides), layered it on Bermuda Bay and mounted to the card with Dimensionals.

And there you have it....an easy to make bright and fun card!

You're Always There - Crazy Crafters Team Project Highlights

Hello and welcome to Friday!!

As always, Friday means Project Highlights with the Crazy Crafters.

First and foremost I would like to extend my thanks to everyone that votes in these amazing highlights each week.
The last couple of weeks I have been voted in the Top 5 and I am truly thankful and honoured to be amongst such talent in this Crazy Crafters Team.  A huge thank you must also go out to Kylie who of course, makes all of this possible.

Today's project I have used one of the hostess stamp sets in the
Annual Catalogue...Love You Lots

And here is what I made:

(sorry about the wobbly photo, my photography skills aren't that great)

I didn't really know where I was heading with this when I took the stamp set of the shelf. I just stamped the image in Crumb Cake ink on Whisper White cardstock to start, then used Early Espresso and Real Red Watercolour Pencils really lightly to add a little more colour.
I then layered the stamped image on Crumb Cake cardstock, then again on Real Red.

I decided on Real Red as my card base too.  I embossed Whisper White with the Large Polka Dot embossing folder, and added a few Brights Enamel Shapes to bring out the red a little more.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set, stamped on white and then die cut using the Tags & Labels Framelits Dies. A few Dimensionals helped put all the layers together and....hey presto!!!
A super simple card with heaps of meaning.

Happy Birthday Zane

Hi Everyone

Our friend's grandson turned one over the weekend and as always, 1st birthdays are a really big deal. Unfortunately we couldn't be there on the day but caught up with them a few days after with a special gift.

And of course when there are presents, there are cards.
Here is the really cute baby card I made.

Happy Birthday Zane!!

I tried to keep this really fun and simple and be a keepsake for his mum.
I have a Basic Black card base and layered this with Mint Macaron and Whisper White.

I stamped the white cardstock with images from the Zoo Babies Stamp Set. This set is retired now but I just can't part with it.  It is so cute!!!
I teamed this with the Number of Years Stamp Set for the sentiment and the stamped #1 image, then I used the Large Number Framelits Dies to cut out the #1 and mount it with Dimensionals.  The balloon is from the Balloon Adventures Stamp Set.

This is such a quick and easy card and can be changed around to suit any age.

Want to make this too???? You can!!

Aim For Alaska Blog Hop

Hi Everyone!!

Welcome to this amazing blog hop!!
Kylie Bertucci started this training group Aim for Alaska to help, support and inspire demonstrators in her team, The Crazy Crafters, to achieve their goal of achieving the Stampin' Up! Annual Incentive trip.  Now not only does it help her team - but it has gone GLOBAL - yes, everyone wants to be a part of this great support group.

I won't waffle on too much but I do want to let you know how this group has helped me. I work fulltime outside of Stampin' Up!® and have a family so this was just a hobby for me with no intentions of anything else.  I have found the training and support within the Aim for Alaska group (and my very supportive upline Nicole) really inspiring, and showing that if you concentrate on one aspect that you want to achieve at a time - things will change.  For me it did.  It has taken me nearly two years however I now have a team of five demonstrators and growing....

Now enough about me, let's get on with what we are here for:

You may be joining our hop here with me, Leisa Pedersen or you may have come from the person previous to me.  Where ever you started, don't miss a single post.  There are so many talented demonstrators in our hop today.

THEME:  Inspired by Alaska
It could be the colours, the nature, the animals - whatever you want to take from Alaska.  I have chosen colours and was inspired by google images of the Northern Lights

Isn't this just spectacular!!
Now there is no way on earth that my skills can replicate this image as beautiful as it is here but I gave it a go....not quite how I imagined that it would turn out but I'm happy with it.  Here is my card...

The colours I chose are Night of Navy, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Cucumber Crush.  I used my sponge daubers to rub the colours and tried to blend together.  The tree image is from Peaceful Pines, stamped in Black Staz On ink and the sentiment from Cottage Garden.  I stamped this on Whisper White and cut out using the Classic Label punch and adhered to the card with Dimensionals.

I wanted to add the glittery stars effect but had to settle with a few Metallic Shapes stars to finish off. So there it is....one northern lights inspired card.

I hope you have enjoyed our hop so far.

There are so many amazing ideas to draw inspiration from so be sure to continue your journey this hop by following the list to see who's up next!

Thanks so much for stopping by.
See you again soon

Global Design Project #GDP078 - Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone

Welcome to the Global Design Project for this week.  Today we are working with a sketch.  I love sketches and often use them when creating my 12 x 12 scrapbooking layouts.

Here is our sketch today:

I have gone back to basics with this one and kept it really simple.  I use this simple style for thank you cards to my customers.  Here is my card:

I have chosen Emerald Envy for this project and started with a standard card base layered with Whisper White.  I then layered a strip of solid colour and a slightly narrower strip of In Colour Designer Series Paper.  Using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, I cut two circles of green and white and stamped the greeting from One Big Meaning stamp set.  I mounted this to the card with a few Dimensionals and punched out a butterfly using the Elegant Butterfly Punch.
A couple of Rhinestone Basic Jewels to finish off.
