Global Design Project #051 - We all scream for Ice Cream!!

Hi Everyone!!

I am super excited to be a part of this week's Global Design Project.
How amazing is it to be creating with so many talented demonstrators from all over the globe??

And this week's theme:

I found out, after going through every stamp set that I own,  I don't actually have any food themed sets in my collection.  So I really had to think about this one.

And then it came to me:  Punch Art!
What is Punch Art?  It is the creation of almost anything you can think of using punches of different shapes and sizes to make your desired image.

So after playing around a bit, here is my creation

I used Daffodil Delight as my card base measuring 5.75" x 4" and layered with Whisper White Thick 5.5" x 3.75".  I rounded the bottom corners for a softer effect.

My Ice Cream Recipe:
Ice Cream - card stock measures 4" x 1 1/4" in Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight.  I placed one end into the side of 1 3/4" circle punch and rounded the top.  I then took the smallest scalloped oval framelit from the Layering Oval Framelits and placed it just on the corner, ran through the Big Shot and created a bite mark.  I glued the colours to Whisper White and repeated this step, but not taking off as much - so you can see the ice cream effect inside. I inked around the edges of the entire ice cream in same colours for a bit of definition and adhered to the card with dimensionals.

I took the layered cake framelit from the Shaker Shapes Framelits set and used one of the cake layers to create the pop stick with Crumb Cake card stock and rounded the end.

I finished off with a sentiment from the Cottage Greetings stamp set which I stamped on Whisper White and matted with Daffodil Delight. I used the Stampin' Write Markers in Tempting Turquoise and Melon Mambo for a two tone effect.  I added a couple of Basic Pearl Jewels for show and used dimensionals to adhere to the card.

I did something a little out of the ordinary for the inside.  Using the drippy stamp (that's what I call it anyway) from the new Ghoulish Grunge stamp set,  I continued with the same colours and stamped as if the ice creams were melting.

I left the card blank on the inside so it can be used for any occasion.

If you would like to recreate this project or any others and you live in Australia, my online store is open 24/7.  A list of products I have used is below.
