This is Tami's card I have chosen to case:
And here is my card....
Using Basic Black card stock as my card base, I then matted with Whisper White.  I loved the masking technique that Tami highlighted in her tutorial and thought I must try this.....and by golly it worked.  It turned out really well.  I used the same stamp set, Pun Intended, changed the sentiment and added a few hearts to fill in the background and it adds to the theme also.
There are so many amazing ideas to draw inspiration from so be sure to continue your journey on this blog hop by following the list to see who’s up next!

#GDP045 Colour Challenge - Sending Smiles

I am so bummed I missed the deadline for this challenge due to being very under the weather.  I was really looking forward in taking part in my first Global Design Project Colour Challenge.  I must admit I have a bit of a soft spot for hot pink so I am loving using Melon Mambo in any project lately.

So this was colour challenge using the following colours:

But onward and upward here is the card I created:

I went for a square card this time round, using Melon Mambo for the base and layering with Basic Black, Smokey Slate and Whisper White. Just for an added bit of interest, I 'tilted' the layers.  I stamped 3 butterflies from Papillion Potpurri stamp set in Smokey Slate, then stamped one in Melon Mambo and used the Elegant Butterfly punch to punch out and adhere with a dimensional on the centre stamp.  A simple sentiment from Greatest Greetings stamp set to compliment, a few splatters from Timeless Textures and some Pearl Basic Jewels in opposite corners just to finish off.

You Light up my Life

I have been wanting to use the new Pun Intended Stamp Set for a few weeks and really couldn't come up with anything that I really liked.  But as I was doing some research for a project that I will be blogging next week, I finally had a light bulb moment.....literally.

So this is what I created...

I started with Basic Black card base 5 1/4" x 4", then matted with Daffodil Delight, Basic Black and Whisper White card stock.  I stamped the images then went around the bulbs with Daffodil Delight marker.  The sentiment is also from the Pun Intended stamp set.

I have also entered this card into the Crazy Crafters Team Project Highlights for this week. You can see all the entries & vote for your favourites here from 6.30pm AEST, Friday 22 July 2016.

Happy 21st

I was asked by a friend to make a 21st birthday card for her daughter.  I was honoured but then freaked out....like where do I start??

Well hello Pinterest!!! What a vast array of ideas from simple cards to the exquisit..I think mine falls somewhere in between.

The request was white and gold, such an elegant combination. So taking a 5" x 7" Whisper White Thick card base, I matted this with a Gold Foil Sheet and used a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Pop of Pink range.   I cut 2 more strips of the Gold Foil Paper and used the Banner Triple to create banners.  I fussy cut the champagne glass and used some gold metallic thread and metallic enamel shapes for the bubbles.  I cut the "21" using the Large Number Framelits, tag from Tags and Labels Framelits and the sentiment is from Because You Care stamp set.  So here it is......

Now I had just one more dilemma.....we were also invited to the 21st birthday party so I needed a card from me too.

This one I made slightly bigger than the normal so my card base is 8" x 6" Basic Black card stock and I have layered this with Thick Whisper White.  Then creating a wider border I used the Designer Specialty Paper Pop of Pink hearts print for my background.

I then offset to the left hand side of the card a smaller layered panel of Whisper White, Basic Black and embossed Whisper White. Using the Banner Framelits, I created a flag effect where I placed the all important "21".  I used the Balloon Bouquet punch and more Pop of Pink DSP to create balloons.  I found some dotted ribbon that would match perfectly, a key, and a bit of bling and hey presto......here is the end result.

It's about here that I would normally give credit to the creative person I cased this card from but I cannot find any links or original post on Pinterest.

If you live in Australia and would like to create stunning projects like this and much more, my online shop is open 24/7 - be sure to use this months hostess code for an extra surprise from me!

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop July

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with our Special Guest Tracy May.

This is my first blog hop with the Crazy Crafters Team – I am really excited but also nervous at the same time.

This month we were asked to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) any project that has been created by Tracy.

You may just be joining the blog hop here at my blog Leisa Pedersen or may have come from the person previous to me.  Where ever you started, don't miss a single post. There are so many gorgeous cards here.

This is Tracy’s card I have chosen to case:

And this is my card:

I have kept the layout of the card the same however I changed the placement of the sentiment and added some linen thread across the card for extra interest.  I used Sahara Sand for the card base, Island Indigo for layering and the gorgeous new Designer Series Paper Blooms & Bliss.
There are so many amazing ideas to draw inspiration from so be sure to continue your journey on this blog hop by following the list to see who’s up next!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

For Any Occasion

I got to play around a little in my Craft Cave last night and tried a few different things together that I hadn't done before.

One of my favourite colours is Bermuda Bay....I love this colour!!! So I was playing around and came up with this...

I decided instead of having a full layer on the front of the card, I would cut it on an angle for a bit of interest.  I used Whisper White Thick for the base and of course, Bermuda Bay for everything else. The Bermuda Bay card stock is embossed with the new Seaside Embossing Folder and I placed 1/8" stitched ribbon along the edge of that to soften.  Then I used the splatter stamp from Timeless Textures to fill the exposed white card stock.  I punched out some hearts using the Sweetheart punch and mounted with dimensionals. The sentiment is from the Pun Intended stamp set, stamped, die cut with the smallest Banner Framelit and mounted. A full list of products I used is below.

I have also entered this card into the Crazy Crafters Team Project Highlights for this week. You can see all the entries & vote for your favourites here from 6.30pm AEST, Friday 8 July 2016.

Happy Birthday to you! Lego Card

Hi and welcome to Leisa's Craft Cave and my first EVER blog post!! Yes, that's right, I am very new to this blogging thing so it's a tad daunting. If you would like to get to know me a little more, click the About Me tab at the top of my page.

I wanted to start my blog journey with something fairly simple so I have cased (copy and selectively edit) a card from Julie Kettlewell, a demo in the UK. I really like Julie's creations as they are crisp and clean in design. You can take a look at Julie's blog at www.juliesjapes.blogspot.com

My son Alex turned 9 last Saturday and like most boys, Lego has been a big part of his life.  As part of his birthday gifts we transformed one of the rooms in our home to a Lego room so I thought what better way to complete the celebrations with a Lego birthday card.

Here is my card:

The card size is 5.75" x 5.75" and I used Pacific Point as the card base.  I then layered with Whisper White to create my background.  The Lego blocks are 1 1\4" square and I used the 1/2" circle punch to make the knobs of the blocks. I used Real Red, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight and Cucumber Crush card stock as these colours matched the Lego colours almost perfectly.  I then stamped with an sentiment from Number of Years stamp set and die cut the number 9 with the Large Number Framelits Dies.  A full list of products I used is below.

See you next time :)
