Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Paula Dobson

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with our very special guest, New Zealand Demonstrator Paula Dobson from Stampinantics.  You can find out more about Paula at her blog here.

You may just be joining the blog hop here with me, Leisa Pedersen or may have come from the person previous to me.  Where ever you started, don't miss a single post. There are so many talented demonstrators in our hop today.

Today we are asked to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) any project that has been created by Paula.

This is Paula's card I have chosen to case:

And here is my creation:

I decided to pick something a little different in size to the normal cards we see time and time again. This card measures 7" x 3" and I have used Night of Navy as my card base, layered with Whisper White Thick.

I tried to give the impression of a rocky bottom, just like in a fish tank however it really didn't turn out like I visioned and to make things a bit worse, I made a couple of boo boos too;  ooppss!!  Oh well, these things happen sometimes, life goes on.

I have used only one stamp set for this project -  Seaside Shore - and stamped the images and sentiment using Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand, Smokey Slate, Marina Mist, Night of Navy, So Saffron and Wild Wasabi

I hope you have enjoyed our hop so far.
There are so many amazing ideas to draw inspiration from so be sure to continue your journey on this blog hop by following the list to see who’s up next!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Sarah Berry

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with our very special guest Sarah Berry from stampwithsarah.co.uk  You can find out more about Sarah check our her blog here.

You may just be joining the blog hop here at my blog Leisa Pedersen or may have come from the person previous to me.  Where ever you started, don't miss a single post. There are so many talented demonstrators in our hop today.

Today we are asked to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) any project that has been created by Sarah

This is Sarah's card I have chosen to case:

And here is my creation:

Starting with Rich Razzleberry card stock as my card base , I have layered with Whisper White Thick, and added a second layer of Sweet SugerPlum and Whisper White.  I have embossed top layer of Whisper White by running through Big Shot with Happy Heart embossing folder.

I then used Scalloped Tag Topper punch and made 2 tags 3 1/2" x 2" and inked around edge of white tag with Sweet Sugarplum.

The hearts were created using the Sweet & Sassy Framelits - I stamped both of these with an image from Timeless Textures stamp set.

I added a simple sentiment from Cottage Greetings, stamped on Whisper White and inked around edges to match the tags.

I hope you have enjoyed our hop so far.

Retired Set - Dapper Dad!!

Hello again!

Thanks for visiting my blog Leisa's Craft Cave.

It's Father's Day today in Australia and I have have left making cards to the very last minute.  So I needed something quick and easy to throw together..

There are some great Stampin' Up! sets currently available that would suit this occasion but I have decided to brush off the dust of an old classic set -

Dapper Dad Stamp Set (2013)

I recently watched a tutorial about Triple Time Stamping from Dawn Olchefske from DOstamping with Dawn.  You can find out more about Dawn by checking out her blog here.  I have used this technique for my card today.

Here is what I created:

Using one of the new 2016-2018 in colours - Dapper Denim Card Stock, I layered with Whisper White.  I then took the watch image and stamped randomly in Dapper Denim ink.  The sentiment is from Guy Greetings stamp set.

I then just stamped one image on the inside of the card with a sentiment from the Greatest Greetings stamp set.

I only keep a very few favourite retired sets - and this set being the classic that it is - I just couldn't part with.

Also the new Holiday Catalogue is now live - meaning everyone can now purchase products. It runs from 1st September 2016 through to 3rd January 2017. The catalogue is full of gorgeous seasonal stamps sets that you will fall in love with;  from traditional Christmas sets to fun Halloween sets and a few in between.

I don't want to spoil it for you - see it for yourself - contact me to request your copy.

Global Design Project #051 - We all scream for Ice Cream!!

Hi Everyone!!

I am super excited to be a part of this week's Global Design Project.
How amazing is it to be creating with so many talented demonstrators from all over the globe??

And this week's theme:

I found out, after going through every stamp set that I own,  I don't actually have any food themed sets in my collection.  So I really had to think about this one.

And then it came to me:  Punch Art!
What is Punch Art?  It is the creation of almost anything you can think of using punches of different shapes and sizes to make your desired image.

So after playing around a bit, here is my creation

I used Daffodil Delight as my card base measuring 5.75" x 4" and layered with Whisper White Thick 5.5" x 3.75".  I rounded the bottom corners for a softer effect.

My Ice Cream Recipe:
Ice Cream - card stock measures 4" x 1 1/4" in Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight.  I placed one end into the side of 1 3/4" circle punch and rounded the top.  I then took the smallest scalloped oval framelit from the Layering Oval Framelits and placed it just on the corner, ran through the Big Shot and created a bite mark.  I glued the colours to Whisper White and repeated this step, but not taking off as much - so you can see the ice cream effect inside. I inked around the edges of the entire ice cream in same colours for a bit of definition and adhered to the card with dimensionals.

I took the layered cake framelit from the Shaker Shapes Framelits set and used one of the cake layers to create the pop stick with Crumb Cake card stock and rounded the end.

I finished off with a sentiment from the Cottage Greetings stamp set which I stamped on Whisper White and matted with Daffodil Delight. I used the Stampin' Write Markers in Tempting Turquoise and Melon Mambo for a two tone effect.  I added a couple of Basic Pearl Jewels for show and used dimensionals to adhere to the card.

I did something a little out of the ordinary for the inside.  Using the drippy stamp (that's what I call it anyway) from the new Ghoulish Grunge stamp set,  I continued with the same colours and stamped as if the ice creams were melting.

I left the card blank on the inside so it can be used for any occasion.

If you would like to recreate this project or any others and you live in Australia, my online store is open 24/7.  A list of products I have used is below.

That's it from me,

Thank You

Hi everyone!
Thanks for visiting my blog, Leisa's Craft Cave

Yesterday I was frantically trying to get something done for this week's Crazy Crafters Team Project Highlights and I managed to do it, yay!!!

Today's project is something very simple yet I think very effective at the same time.  Many a time we spend looking for or making just the right card for that special someone - this I feel can be used for anyone.

This week's creation:

Using Basic Black card stock as a base I think really makes these colours pop!! The card base measures 5.75" x 4" and I’ve layered using Whisper White measuring 5.5" x 3.75".

I created my own background of 3 colours: Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise, with the gorgeous splatter stamp from Touches of Texture. If you don’t already have this set in your collection may I suggest purchasing with your next order. It is gorgeous and you can achieve so many stunning effects.

I wasn’t sure how I was going to add my greeting– I thought about a banner style, then label but wasn’t convinced. So while playing around with scraps on my table, it came to me – a simple 2" Basic Basic square with the sentiment stamped on Whisper White – BINGO!! Very stylish I think lol.

I used the ‘Thank you’ sentiment from One Big Meaning stamp set on the front and a sentiment from Thoughtful Branches stamp set on the inside. I added a bit of splatter for interest.

I hope I have given you some inspiration to experiment and create your own backgrounds.  I have included my creation in this week's Crazy Crafters Team Highlights.

You can see all the entries & vote for your favourites here from 6.30pm AEST, Friday 2nd September 2016
